Another sunscreen question-daycare

So the second my DD came home with the form or sunscreen application I started stressing about how well they would be applying it. Lo and behold, she came home today with a mild sunburn, along the curve of each elbow so it wasn't the sunscreen not working, it was just poorly applied. I've literally mentioned every day how they need to douse her in it. I also sent in sun hats for them to put on her, which they do and they say they try to keep her in a shaded area.

Anyway, I'm not mad, I get it's easy to miss a spot but I don't want it to happen again and quite honestly I don't see how it won't- they have a bunch of kids to load up with sunscreen who are likely trying to run away.

Any suggestions to make things easier for them and prevent her from getting burnt? I know I could put it on before she leaves but they don't go out till at least 4 hours after she's dropped off.

Definitely put it on in the AM.

They should only have to reapply... 4 hours is not so long... unlesss the kid had been swimming, there should be residual sunscreen.

When I worked in daycare. All the teachers dreaded the hot weather because of sunscreen. Try putting sunscreen on 12 toddlers, and they all wear different sun screens and you are trying to avoid eyes and mouths and they are squirming it's not easy. You should always apply in the am before daycare. Teachers are doing the best they can. If you are that concerned you can send in clothing that offer sun protection.

Put it on in the am. If you're really concerned, maybe consider some UV protective clothing!

Our daycare requires that we put it on the AM, and they reapply for the afternoon. They go to the playground at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in DD's room, for about 30 min each stretch.

Our daycare requires us to apply in the morning at home, and they keep a bottle there to reapply as well. That is your best bet.

Thanks guys, I'm going to start applying in the morning. I kind of want to get her one of those UV protective shirts but DH says they already think I'm nuts with the hat so a shirt is pushing it!
