Broadway Shows

I have tickets for Friday for a show, and something has come up (as usual). Can I go to the Box Office and trade in the tickets for a later date?

Maybe, maybe not. Every show has a different policy, but most broadway are the same.

What they usually do is allow you to exchange your ticket for a same date, past date exchange. Meaning, you contact them the day of the show you want to see and they tell you if tix are available. Then you bring your past date tix to the box office and they will give you seats to that same day performance.

This is usually what shows will do, but keep in mind that Fri-Sun performances often are not offered for past-dating...so if Fri/Sat/Sun is best for you, past-dating may not be the answer you're looking for.

Honestly this show is so hot right now you'd be best off selling them (here, to a friend or family member, or on Stub Hub) and buying seats for a Fri night sometime in the future.

Is it for the Friday night show? If so, how much are the tickets?

Some shows do offer it for weekends, but that's only if there are last minute tix available.

Right, that's why I said "often are not" instead of "never" Chat Icon

I've worked in Broadway ticketing for over a decade...the odds of past-dating for a hot show on a weekend are very slim.

You're right, I read your response quickly and missed "often." Chat Icon
