Does anyone work for the LIRR or their spouse? DH will be accepting a position. I was wondering if anyone can let me know how the benefits are? Feel free to PM me

My cousin works for the lirr and I know he and his family are very happy with the benefits from the OT, medical, dental, vision, pension, etc. I'm sorry I don't know the specifics I just know they all happy.

There is a guy on the Long Island board on Reddit who is a conductor and usually answers all LIRR related questions. You may want to try posting there if you have more questions.

Re: Lirr- benefits
I have LIRR benefits. I have zero complaints. It's a really great company to work for.

I used to work for the MTA Business Service Center who does the orientation for LIRR. I think it depends if he is management or union which benefits he gets. All are great benefits though. My friend Jean who does the benefits orientation still has LIRR benefits and has no complaints.

Re: Lirr- benefits
There are different unions within the LIRR. The individual unions can offer different things. Some unions have co-pay reimbursement. The link I sent you through FM will give you a better understanding of what the benefits actually are, but it is the NYSHIP Empire Plan - it's really great insurance.

Thank you!! Yes I don't think I replied to your fm? Don't remember hahaha my brain is always in twin mode! Lol but thank you! I looked it over a bit yesterday! He's getting paperwork together this week so I'm sure when we have a free second we can look over what he will exactly have but the information you send was so helpful! Thank you!! :)

The empire plan is the best plan. I never had any issues with it and so much was covered.
