3 year old knocked tooth loose ;(
My LO fell and hit her mouth on our wood floor. She hurt her bottom lip pretty badly on her teeth and her top front tooth had a little blood at the gumline. We iced her for a while and called our dentist. The dentist isn't too concerned and told us to keep and eye on it. Has this happened to anyone? What did you do? What was the outcome?
The tooth has a very slight wiggle to it and a little red from bleeding around the gum line.
Thanks for any support! So appreciated! :)

No experience, but I heard to watch for discoloration in the tooth. If it turns grey, etc,

Re: 3 year old knocked tooth loose ;(
I don't know if this is true but I heard that if it's only slightly loose it could tighten up again. However, my friends son just had to have his pulled at 4 years old because he hit it on the floor when he was like 2 and it was starting to turn gray, but it had also chipped when he hit it. My dd hit hers at 2 and it was bleeding just like you explained and hers is still good at 4 1/2. I also have another friend whose DS tooth fell out within minutes of hitting it. So I'd stay hopeful if it's not chipped and it's still there.

This just happened to my 4 yo DS. The dentist said there was slight movement in the tooth and it should tighten up. She told us to avoid crunchy foods for 2 weeks to let it heal.

Re: 3 year old knocked tooth loose ;(
My 2.5 year fell on Thanksgiving weekend. Her front tooth got pushed up into her gums. It was terrible. Called the dentist (but it was after hours) so she had us text her a picture. Then she sent us to Stony Brook ER because they have a dentist there and she wanted her to get X Rays. They took an X ray and you could really see how much it moved. They said there were a few possibilities--it would fall out on it's own, it would need to be pulled if it gets infected, or it could push itself back down into original position. Her gums and upper lip were all bruised and swollen and her tooth was a little bit wiggly. We had to go for follow ups at the dentist. One dentist said to come back in 2 weeks and they would probably pull it. We went back 2 weeks later and when we got there, we saw a different dentist and could tell she didn't think we should pull it. She said there weren't any signs of infection and we should just wait and see. Well it's been 5 months and I'm happy to say that the tooth has firmed back up so it's not wiggly, it's not gray at all, and it pushed itself back down to almost where it was before she fell, and her permanent teeth look fine on the X Ray.

This happens a lot. It's normally not a big deal, but you need to watch for 2 things: white patches in the gum (like puss, which is a sign of infection) or tooth discoloration (which is a sign that the nerve was damaged). If you see either, you need to go to a dentist ASAP.
This happened to DD a few months ago but she was fine. Her tooth was loose and it bled for hours, but there was no damage and it healed fine. It actually happened to my sister when she was 2.5 yo. She got a very bad infection and wound up having the tooth pulled. She had a space maintainer until she was older but no lasting effects on her adult teeth.

My sons ran into each other when my older DS was 4 and he hit his top tooth. It was a little wiggly but, tightened up.
It did become discolored from the blood - baby teeth are hollow. But, there was no damage.
