Chat Icon I have no idea.... Have you tried talking to her, maybe mentioning you saw it? Maybe if she knew you or her dad knew, she might be a little more careful of what she posts.

Re: check this out...

Wow...Im far from these years but I worry already. I dont know what you do, Id definitely consult someone who has older kids as well. My SIL would know how to handle it, her youngest is 16. Is her Mom in the picture? Not that you want to go behind your DHs back of course but I wonder if her Mom knows. Myspace scares the sh*t out of me for young kids...

I would make her spend 1 week with a newborn baby and talk to her about teenage sex and teenage moms!!!

Its so hard for teenagers these days! Everything is pointing for them to be sexual...

Then I would buy her a nightgown like this and make her wear it to school.

Re: check this out...

I might not mention that you saw her page but sit her down and talk to her about all the dangers of myspace and how predators do lurk on there and that the internet in general is dangerous.

I agree. Have her watch the dateline predator show, too.
I would pull the computer out of her room and put it in a "public famliy space" where you and you DH can glance over at it while she is online from time to time. I would also remove a webcam if she had one of those.
She will probably not like you or your DH very much, but I would rather have my daughter not like me and potentially save her from being harmed than have her like me, JMO. She will get over it, it may take a few weeks.

I have to disagree with this. I have been through the teenage phase with my 2 girls and I would, definitely, let her know what I saw and tell her exactly why it is inappropriate. Honesty is always the best approach. I would then take the computer from her room and put it in a place where it could be monitored at all times. I would check the history of the sites she visited every day and her MySpace page would be deleted and the site would be blocked. She would have to earn the right to have the computer back in her room again. She, probably, is a very good girl, but, she most likely thinks nothing can happen to her and will say there is nothing wrong with the picture. She's not mature enough to think beyond the moment. Both my girls never gave me any problems, but, they both knew that I was very vigilant and would, at any time, check out what they were doing or show up where they said they were going (I never would have, but they didn't know it at the time). I was not their friend, but, their parent and I took my job very seriously and still do.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Well said. I agree. I'm sure she doesn't realize the danger she is putting herself in.

I noticed you said that this is your step-daughter. Does she live with you? If she doesn't, I would talk to her mother (if you feel comfortable with her) and bring this to her attention. If she lives with her mom, you can only do so much monitoring her at your home.

Um, I would probably flip out.

First of all I would have full out monitoring software on that computer.

Next I would sit her down and have a long talk with her about self-respect.
