Vacation Ideas?
We're looking for somewhere to go this summer-we would rent a house.
It would potentially be 8 adults and 3 kids (6 mo, 9 mo, 3 yo).
We would like something within driving distance. We enjoy nature, preferably with hiking. Not very populated.
We've been to the following, and would like to go somewhere new:
Acadia/Bar Harbor Maine Vermont Poconos Philly Baltimore DC Boston
Any ideas?

Vacation Ideas?
We are thinking of doing a week in the White Mountains of NH. Lots of family friendly hiking, plus a couple of cute little kid amusement parks (story land & santa's village). We have never been, but people who have, rave about it.

Vacation Ideas?
We went to the White Mountains last Summer and LOVED It! I can't believe we hadn't been sooner. We went to Santa's Village, which was absolutely adorable. My 9 year old and my teenager had a great time there, as did I.
We also went to Clark's Trading Post which was very fun, and the live Bear show was pretty awesome, and the story behind their family and the bears.
We visited a few waterfalls in the National Parks off the Kangamungus highway (I'm spelling that wrong). The views off the highway are just AWESOME! We stopped several times to get pictures. Lots of hiking off that highway. We swam in a small waterfall/river type area. Very slippery on the rocks, so bring water shoes.
Story Book Land is also there, we didn't do it.
The Mount Washington Cog Railroad was on my list, but it was going to be chilly and windy at the top, so we skipped it. But, looked great!

Re: Vacation Ideas?
The Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid is STUNNING!!! It's a gorgeous log cabin resort and they even have rooms that are bigger than the sq footage of my house so it's like renting a house. They come with fully equipped kitchens, HUGE amounts of space and your own personal patio or deck.
They have a spa, game room, heated pools, hot tubs, S'mores roasting every night, all kinds of activities including hiking, and more! They even shuttle you to their own private beach on the lake where you can lounge, take a paddleboat, swim, etc. The downtown shopping area is adorable and has lots of nice places to eat. We loved it!!
Living Social and Groupon often has some good deals for rooms there and you save a lot. I highly recommend it, can't wait to go back.
