Kindergarten Spring party ideas

As class mom the teacher said they have a Spring party before break and kids plant their own flowers. I do not have a green thumb at all and don't even know where to start. I imagine I get the dirt and put them in the cups and give the kids seeds to put in and water.
Any other ideas? Don't know where to begin. I assume Home Depot is pricier and go to a nursery.
Any other ideas? Some cute craft.

We did these little turtle planters which are very cute. It uses those little fruit cups.

I feel like kids did this in a paper cup.

They had a paper cup, a ziplock filled with dirt, and seeds. So the dumped the dirt in, pushed the seeds in, watered it and took it home. I eventually peeled away the paper cup and put them in a little pot. I think there was instructions to do so, you could prob find it on pinterest.

If you could find plain paper cups they could decorate them first.

My daughter does grass seed ahead of time in her school. It grows fast and looks cute. They put it in a basket (that they make) and put some plastic eggs in too!
