What time to sing happy birthday for 3-5pm party?
Party evite was for 3-5pm. Will have 15 7-8 year old boys at our house. Majority of the kids will be dropped off. This is the first time ever that I have gotten 100% yes RSVPs. We will have entertainment from 3-4 roughly (mobile gem lab parked in our driveway). Basement will have bounce house, XBoxOne and Wii U.
I want to sing happy birthday right after entertainment at 4pm. DH wants to wait until the end of the party. I think it will be difficult to get the kids to come back up from the basement and it will delay the end of the party. Many parents will just be picking up their kid at 5pm.
WWYD?
A. Sing happy birthday at 4pm and let kids eat
B. Sing happy birthday at 4:45 knowing this will delay end time of party
I am well aware that 4pm is not a meal time. 4:45 isn't a meal time either. I always serve food even if it isn't a meal time.

What time to sing happy birthday for 3-5pm party?
are you serving pizza or a food too or just cake? If just cake, do it at 4:45 and the kids will be done well before 5:00 pm.

I am still trying to figure out what to serve for food. I was planning to serve pizza, snacks and fruit. Pizza has not yet been ordered yet. I have two huge platters of fruit and I bought chips and dip/salsa.

To be honest, I don't even thing you need pizza or a "sit down" meal. I'd do the platters like you said and maybe some pizza bagels or something like that and just serve it while they are playing the xbox downstairs. Then have them come up for cake at the end.

I would do the cake around 4.30 ...that way they can eat and be ready for 5 pm pick up.

I would do food at 4 (maybe just snacks) and then sing HB & have cake & let them go downstairs to play until they get picked up.

Kids mine for gems. Basically sifting through dirt for treasure. They also break geodes for crystals.

I think as soon as they come in from the truck, you should have pizza (if you are doing pizza) and then sing happy birthday/have cake, then send them downstairs to play until pick up time
That is how I woudl do it

This idea is good... Originally I was thinking 4:30 for pizza and cake, but thinking more if they are playing xbox downstairs, it will be very difficult to make them stop to come and sing happy birthday - well, if they are like DS
