Survive. Honestly I'm giving birth late June/early July. I will be home with a newborn and a 4 year old so survival is my only item for this summer.

Re: What is on your summer bucket list
Last summer I felt like a lot of days were just too lazy and kids were getting bored. They will be 5 & 7 so much easier than years past to go on adventures.
My goal is to get to the ocean at least once a week! Dutch wonderland/crayola factory Please touch museum Splish splash a few times

Re: What is on your summer bucket list
Make sure you hit up Doughology on a day where the have Rainbow Cookie Donuts or Cannoli cream donuts. Those are my faves!
ETA: For me, just hit up some of my favorite places with my DD for the first time- the beach, aquarium, Bronx Zoo, gymboree. I'd like to do mommy and me swimming classes at Saf T Swim for her, too. I'd also like to take a weekend trip somewhere- no idea where though!

Sesame place. 3 out of 4 of us have a season pass so hopefully we'll get there at least twice for day trips.
Visiting ILs upstate so the girls can canoe, fish, make smores, and just hang with family. We usually stop at the Bronx zoo on our way up at least once a summer.
Children's museum of the east end
Air trampoline or sky zone
Beach, hiking at avalon and other local parks, Suffolk County farm
Hoping to plan a big trip to Colorado to visit my sister's family. We may look into adding on a road trip to Moab or Brice Canyon while we're out there.

Re: What is on your summer bucket list
We will have a new baby! It will be low key for us.
DD will be at camp full time and DS will also be attending for the first time, three days a week for a few hours.
We joined our local pool club that is a few blocks from us and around the block from my parents so we will be spending time there.
DD and DS are both Summer bdays, so something fun for those events like Chuck E Cheese, splash parks, etc. I think we will also be having parties out for the first time.
The only other thing is spending 3-4 days in Ocean City, MD, before school starts and I go back to work from maternity leave.

Last year we went to Glover Farms in Brookhaven. Not a huge place but plenty of great berries and a small play area for the kids.

What is on your summer bucket list
We just booked a week in Cape Cod, plus we will do a long weekend at Dutch Wonderland. My 2 DS's will be in camp M-TH 9-12 for the month of July. We joined our town pool. Plus we would like to do 1 day each at- Adventure Land, Bronx Zoo, Maritime Aquarium/Stepping Stones (same day), maybe Rye Playland. I also want to make sure to get some lazy days in, too. Where we don't leave the house, the kids play with all of their water toys in the backyard, the neighbors kids come over, we grill dinner and eat on the deck, catch lightning bugs before bed. You know, a 1975 summer. Lol

I love the 1970s summers. We do this! We invite our neighborhood friends and love it!!! The best part is our neighborhood has so many kids... we actually jump the fences and go to other people's backyards.
Do try Rye Playland. While it has its negatives, the kiddie area is great and I think much nicer than Adventurland for the older than 5 set (parents aren't allowed on many rides). It's also a fraction of the price... so we end up going a few times over the summer. If you hit it up in the evening and have dinner locally (the restaurants on the pier aren't great... but it's an experience), go back for the lights (beautiful).

My block is like this, too! Love summers in my neighborhood, I love that my kids get to grow up this way. Thanks for the info about Rye. My parents used to take 2-3 times a summer when we were little, haven't been since I was about 15.

We went to Governor's Island this week. It's so nice there. You should go if you haven't been!! 5 minute ferry ride from Battery Park, and you can rent surrey bikes (or regular bikes) and bike past the Statue of Liberty, play on the playground, relax in hammocks, go down huge slides, play mini golf, zip line, rock wall climb, visit Fort Jay, etc. We love it there!! Also, the Sea Glass Carousel in battery park is sooooo cool! We LOVED that!

We made it there earlier in August, it was great! As for this weekend, it is supposed to be cold and rainy. We are supposed to be having friends over on Sunday. They will most likely come even if the weather is crappy, the kids can all play in the basement. We may do the aquarium tomorrow. But, I really want to keep this weekend low key. My boys start 1st grade & Pre-K on Tuesday, I have a lot to do to get ready for that!
