... watching your kid play with their birthday gift just puts a smile on your heart.

yesterday was DS's 22nd birthday.

we had a small gathering at my house, which included two birthday cakes.

DS had wanted a tablet. i got him a samsung tablet that comes with a pen-like stylus. at one point, i looked over and he was contently drawing and concentrating on learning how to get the stylus to do exactly what he wanted. it made my mom-heart smile.

oh, side note.
you were all right. people always show who they are, you just have to give them a little time. DS's sperm donor has vanished again. didn't even send the boy a birthday greeting. oh well. luckily, DS hadn't put much hope into that.
