Does your insurance cover Nutritionist visits?

Does your insurance cover nutritionist visits if you've been diagnosed with food allergies? I'm taking my DC to an allergist to get tested for food allergies and if they come back positive, I want to take him to a nutritionist (mainly to make sure he's getting enough nutrients & vitamins). My insurance (United Healthcare) only covers nutritionist visits for patients diagnosed with diabetes or who are obese. Anyone have the same plan and can share some insight?\

I have the same insurance and yes, only if you have a dd of diabetes. They don't even cover prediabetes or at risk. Def not food allergies.

Nope, not covered.

If your child has a wide array of allergies that would seriously impact nutrition, I would work closely with your pediatrician, ours helps us, but we only have a handful of allergies, not enough to really impact nutrition.
