Bora Bora

For those that have gone, how expensive was it? Was it worth the money?

It was expensive but it was our honeymoon and we splurged. We had one of those over water bunglows which were absolutely breaktaking! It was worth every penny!

We did similar - 1 night in Tahiti, then 5 nights in Moorea then 6 nights in Bora Bora.

That plane ride was scary! LOL

We also stayed in an overwater bungalow at St Regis for our honeymoon. I'm glad we went before we had kids because it is unlikely we would go there again.

Re: Bora Bora

We went for the first time this past July. It was really amazing. We stayed at the four season in Bora Bora. We stayed for 5 nights there, I would say it was pretty amazing, we went with another couple which was really great because I guess it can get a little boring. We had went to Hawaii first and then flew direct to Tahiti, and then off to Bora Bora.

I would definitely go back one day. It was very far but it was worth it. The hotel was very expensive, I believe it was 1800 a night before taxes, and included a buffet breakfast. That was the most expensive hotel we have stayed in. We went in July and it was high season, we booked last minute and there wasn't much availability left when we booked.

There are other hotels in Bora Bora that you can get for much less than what we paid. I saw over the water bungalows at other hotels for around 900-1000 a night, they have regular rooms as well but if you are going to go that far you must get an over the water bungalow.

We skipped Moorea because so many people said Bora Bora is the place they would go if they ever went back, so we felt like why bother going there. Because we skipped Moorea we left from Tahiti to Bora Bora on a decent size plane. It was about a 50 passenger plane so it was not that small, and it was about an hour plane ride.

Amazing. Expensive but the dollar was very bad at the time 2008. But I'd gonagain. We stayed at st Regis over water bungalo. If we were to go back I'd stayed on morrea again. It's more "original" for lack of a better word. But bora bora was to die for too.

Same, except it was the Four Seasons. It was gorgeous but I thought it was annoying that you had to take a water taxi to go do anything out of the resort.
