"Bring jobs back"
I really do not understand this statement at all. It's not 1950 anymore. Bring jobs back to the coal industry and the car industry and manufacturing?
This isn't how things are run nowadays. Coal is awful for the environment. American cars are not very good and this will drive the cost way up. Also mor electric cars and automated cars will be out in the next 20 years. Manufacturing? Most things are done by computers and machines.
Why isn't training done for these workers so the US can join 2017? This isn't sustainable.

Re: "Bring jobs back"
Manufacturing "production" has been slightly positive since 2009, but that's been primarily because of automation. Manufacturing "jobs" are decreasing. Companies aren't hiring more humans, they're using more automation. That isn't going to change, no matter who was President. There isn't a magic wand that can be waved to change that.
Just like there are no more horse-drawn buggy drivers, telegraph operators, or milk men, industries come and go, and there needs to be a national incentive/plan to help people train and transition to new industries.

Re: "Bring jobs back"
It just shows how ignorant Trump is. We are losing jobs because of automation, not trade.

Re: "Bring jobs back"
He keeps talking about bringing jobs back, but what about people who work in fields that will be negatively affected by more oil, gas, and coal. My DH works in renewable energy, specializing in engineering wind turbines. You start moving funding around and those people will lose their jobs!!!

It's not just manufacturing jobs but also corporations. They are outsourcing 1000s of people overseas for jobs that should and could utilized by US workers. There are also corporations that utilize H2 Visas for many employers here in the states because it is cheaper for them.

Not everyone agrees that the H2B Visas are bad, though...

According to the Palm Beach Post, the president-elect is paying some of the winter workers less than they made last year; most get an approximate 1 percent raise.
Trump won approval to hire 64 foreign workers through the federal government's H-2B visa program, the Post reported. He hired 69 workers through the same program last year.
The Post reported Trump will hire 19 cooks at $12.74 an hour, down from $13.01 an hour last year.
The club will hire 30 waiters and waitresses at $11.13 an hour, a 14-cent increase from last year, and 15 housekeepers at $10.17 an hour, a 10-cent increase from last year.
I agree that it would be good if corporations moved jobs back to the US, but will the average American like it when items cost a bit more at Wal-Mart? Most people only care about what they can see right in front of them, and seeing socks increase by 10 cents, and shirts increase by 50 cents isn't tolerable.

People need to realize that in order to bring more jobs to US we are going to have to pay higher prices.

Well I think that is part of the fundamental differences between parties. I think that corporations should have more tax breaks in order for them to afford to keep the jobs in the US with US citizens and also keep the cost of their items lower. I think that would bring more jobs would be boosting the economy because people have viable work and be able to afford health insurance, get off of welfare etc. Obviously this is simplifying the process but bringing jobs back to the people would help out across the board.
