Myrtle Beach for Spring Break
I was thinking of possibly going to Myrtle Beach for spring break week. It may be the only time that I could get off of work when my kids are off. Does anyone know what the weather is like that time of year? Would it be too cold to go to the beach or pool?

My sister-in-law goes every year for spring break. They sit on the beach but it's generally too cool for the water. The pools where they've stayed have all been heated, so they go in the pools.

Myrtle Beach for Spring Break
It's hit or miss - sometimes it's really warm in April - sometimes, it's not really pool or beach weather. I think it's worth the try.

Too cold. Sometimes you can get lucky and get a warm spell... but it's jacket weather! Google past weather.

Myrtle Beach for Spring Break
The weather is really hit or miss. The ocean is usually a bit too cold but a lot of the hotels have heated or indoor pools that are great. Keep in mind depending on what hotel and what dates you might be smack dab in the middle of college spring breakers which some people don't mind and others try to avoid.

I've been twice during spring break. It's really hit it miss. We've had days where you can actually lay out, and other days where we're wearing jackets. Our resort has heated pools, hot tubs and an indoor pool so we always make the best of it.

Thank you for the feedback!
Now I am looking at flights and I'm seeing only Spirit goes there non-stop, and it's pricey, not including the additional fees they charge. I didn't want to drive but looks like we may have to!

Definitely think you need to go further south for swimming weather.
I was looking into Sea Island, which is on the GA/FL border and we did not book because it would not be warm enough to swim. Ended up booking SW Florida for pool/beach weather.

The drive isn't terrible. We've done it for spring break. But with that said, keep checking on the flights. I landed an awesome one day sale last year and booked 3 flights for $78 per person. After luggage and picking seats I think it came to $316 for 3 of us.

I just got back from there and it was in the 70s. I was told it was unseasonably warm though.
