Getaway in April
Hi All -
Im looking for some suggestions for a getaway in April - for my moms 60th bday. It would have to be something for both adults (8) and children as my son will be almost 4.
Ive looked into Woodloch Pines & Rocking Horse Ranch but they are a bit pricey - are they worth it?
anything else? Kalahari is more affordable, but is there much for adults there? What else is there to do other than the indoor waterpark in april?

Rocking Horse is worth it IMO. But, in April, I think only worth it if you actually horseback ride a lot. I love it in the winter...skiing, snowtubing, etc. We paid $500 alone to ski for a few hours in the Berkshires, with rentals and lessons, so it's definitely a good value at Rocking Horse in the winter IMO. Probably not so much in the Spring, but maybe the rates are less, I'm not sure.

Re: Getaway in April
Isn't it still "mud season" as the people who have homes upstate call it? I think days can still be very cool and everything is still wet and muddy. Try Newport, RI. At least if weather is bad, there is stuff to do.

Mystic Ct is lovely that time of year and not that far at all. Nice shops, good dining, the aquarium and some museums are great for adults and children and not far from Long Island at all.
