family friendly cities
Sorry for another travel question! DH & I would like to start taking our kids to one major US city a year. When they are all in high school, we plan to do Europe, but we want to explore our own country first. We have (obviously) done NYC day trips multiple times, and plan on Boston in February. What are some other great American cities that might be fun? We are open to any state, and are fine with long flights. We want to make a "bucket list" of sorts, and check off each city as we go. At the top of our list is San Francisco, Chicago, and Nashville.

We recently went to Philly after my boys became interested in the Rocky movies. We went to every Rocky sight in the movies which was a lot of fun. We took pictures with boxing gloves at many. They have a very nice children's museum which we got a deal on in Groupon. They also have other nice museums. A lot of history there also. The Eastern State Penitentiary also looks interesting for older kids.
Baltimore I also thought was a fun place although we have not taken the kids yet. Camden yards, the row houses, fells point etc..

DC was my absolute favorite as a kid but I've always been obsessed with history and even now would live in the Smithsonian if I could.
I also liked Boston and my parents would stop in Salem for a day, too, which I loved.

We have done Philly, Boston, DC and Charleston. Chicago is on our list too. I'd like to do Seattle, San Diego, Savannah, maybe Dallas.

Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, San Diego, Los Angeles and Phoenix come to mind. All have great family attractions.

I know this isn't a city, but if you're exploring America, bar harbor/Acadia is a must-do in my opinion. I can't wait to bring my girls there!

We have done and love Philly and Boston. They are so kid friendly and I love teaching them the history. I hope to do DC in the near future.

San Diego. We just went over Christmas break and there was so much to do with kids of all ages. DD was sick the entire time so we didn't have the greatest time, but I can't wait to go back when she's a little older.
