Remind me how to dress a baby

I'm due late June with dd#2. My 3 year old was born in late Apr so I have a bunch of summer clothes. I want to start slowly buying some new cute outfits. Dd was in nb for about 6 weeks then switched to 0-3 about June. Thinking many of the clothes won't be warm enough. What would you assume the baby would be wearing in Sept/Oct? Long sleeve onesie and pants or short sleeve onesies and pants? Dd#1 always ran hot but don't want to assume that and have baby be cold. I'm not buying tons but just want to get a couple of things. And should I buy 0-3 or 3-6?

Well I ah e big babies so I always buy bigger. But with that if you buy warmer clothes bigger the winter months are not far from October so she would grow Into them and it wouldn't be wasteful. By October I would think long sleeves and pants. Probably not a jacket yet but October can be chilly. Also remember they can't regulate their body temp very well so should be dressed warmer unless it's extremely hot out

I would buy 3-6 and some 6-9 of whatever you think are your favorites of the 3-6 that you buy. I always find i loved something and then couldn't get it in the next size so now if the sale is right i buy in two sizes.

Also, for the fall you could be doing pants with a short sleeve ones and a sweatshirt or something like that.

My kids are both November babies and ran very warm. Long sleve onesies, soft cotton pant and one piece zip up stretchies with a onesie underneath were our go to. When the are that little you I would dress them normally and the I had the zip up bunting over the car seat with a blanket and a hat. They were always perfectly snuggly.
