So, I'm having a dinner party tonight
and my oven dies.
My 18 pound ham was supposed to be in at 3:30, instead I have an appliance repairman replacing the igniter.
Guess dinner is going to be a little late.
Might be time to open a bottle of wine.

Aww, that stinks. My aunt's oven broke on Thanksgiving one year. They carried the huge turkey to the neighbor's house to cook and we all loaded up on appetizers. Somehow it cooked at lightning speed, we had to scramble to get everything else finished, and everyone was already full from apps thinking we wouldn't be eating for a long time. She wasn't our usually host and there were a few other hiccups. It was a memorable year and she hasn't hosted again since lol.

Fixed !
And the ham is in the oven. Dinner will be a little late, not too bad.
I guess it''s time to replace my appliances, they are almost 20 years old.

we did a ham in the crockpot on Christmas. Brown sugar, honey and pineapple. Came out great. Everyone loved it

Sucess.
A 17 pound fresh ham was done perfectly and dinner on the table by 9.
I owe an apology to DH for flipping out and saying there was no way we wrre going to get a repairman on NYE. He called and found someone that came in 45 minutes.
