What to do on Xmas but no staying home?
So my DH, DD (3) and DS(1) are going to be alone on xmas eve. We can not stay home bec BIL will be there and he thinks we are going to our normal destination but in reality we aren't but don't want to spend xmas eve with him and MIL. Its complicated and uncomfortable between them and we are spending alllll xmas day with them. Sooo with that being said as much as I would like too we can't just stay home and relax. We are going to go out around 1 and we have to be at church at 7-7:30 and then we can head home. Any ideas on something that would be fun for that age range?

The only thing open is reallynthe movies. That would be good for the 3 year old, but the 1 year old prob won't stay still.

Where are you located? I believe the Patchogue y is open. They have the adventure zone which is perfect for that age and I think you can just pay if you're not a member. You can walk through the village after and see the decorations, eat at one of the restaurants, and go to Kilwins for ice cream.

Wait is this for Xmas eve (as in tomorrow, Saturday) or Xmas day. Everything is open tomorrow.

Oops. I read it as Xmas, not eve.
You could do: Christmas at hicks nursery See Scrooge at the Bellmore playhouse See frosty at john engemann theatre Toddler time at sky zone in deer park

After it gets dark you could go see the RexCorp tree in Uniondale & then drive around & look at Christmas lights.
The 3 year old (and you) will probably need to eat between 1 & 7, right? that will kill some time.
You could go to the Milleridge Inn village the restaurant is $$ and fancy for Christmas eve, but you can walk around the shops--they are usually decorated cutely. I am sure they are open for at least part of the day, but I am not sure.
Found this link with some ideas too
