normal C section recovery?
I had a c section on 12/2. I was feeling pretty ok, making strides every day. This weekend I had a lot of family visiting. I did do some cleaning and laundry as well. Last night I started experiencing some pain in my left side. It's like a burning feeling. When I woke up to do DD2s 3am feeding it's definitely worse. It's more tender than my right side as well. I don't feel it was much when I'm laying down or seated but when I get up and walk around it's pretty painful. It's not warm or swollen. I do not have a fever. Is this normal for recovery? i haven't taken the Motrin in a few days and with this pain I am strongly considering it.

Sounds like you just did too much. I found for a few weeks if I pushed it too hard I'd be hunched over by the end of the day and in pain. I would take some Motrin and try to take it easy today.

Take the Motrin, rest if possible and see how you feel. I am 8 weeks out and still get tenderness and some pain when I try to lift heavy grocery bags etc. you've got to take it easy since the internal abdominal muscles are still healing.

You definitely did too much only 10 days later! Take it easy. You shouldn't be doing any lifting or bending for at least 2 weeks. If you overexert yourself you'll wind up prolonging your recovery.

This, ITA. After my C-sections if I pushed myself too much I felt the same way. Just rest up, it takes time to get back to 100%.

Little things like laundry, lifting anything heavier than baby and/or too much activity can really aggregate the incision and heeling process especially if you're only 10 days out - so yes sounds normal and sounds like you just did too much. I have an 18 month old and couldnt get around not picking him up and I must say it really slowed down my heeling process this time. I'm about 7 weeks pp and still get aches and pains if I over do it but I feel a millions times better than I felt at 10 days. My doctor recommended once I think I am able to return to normal wait another week then ease back into my normal activities.

It's easy to forget after these things (when you're a mom and life is going on around you and you have two kids now, etc etc) that you JUST had major abdomenal surgery less than two weeks ago. Allow yourself to rest whenever possible. The laundry will always be there. Now is the time you should be taking it easy whenever possible.
If you're nervous something could be wrong, put a call in to your OB.
Hope you guys are doing great!
