Christmas Tree - Real or Fake?
Fake - my family had a fire when we were young and never again! Too scary for me now.

So growing up all we ever had was fake tree. I think because maintenance wise and affordability. DH only grew up with real trees. So after we got married and moved to our place, we started the real tree tradition. I love the smell and picking it out every year.

I can't even imagine. My dad is a firefighter and we never had a real tree growing up. We begged so many years and all he would say is no, he's seen so many fires from them.

I have to admit I am lucky to put anything up. Real, fake or otherwise. I dread it. So much hassle and then you have to do it all in reverse in a month.
It takes a whole day of work and dragging shit out of the attic when I'd rather be sitting on the couch.

Fake pre-lit all the way no regrets. I grew up with fake trees. Growing up we only had fake trees. I used to visit my friend's houses as kids and get really annoyed by all the pine needles over everything. My tree is up and decorated within an hour. And if my DD has anything to say about it she redecorates it another 23 times because that's what she does.

This is us. We use colored lights on it, and what I call "sentimental" ornaments.
Now that we renovated our master bedroom, I'm going to get a pre-lit, flocked fake tree to put in there, and i want to put all my Lenox ornaments on there with uniform decorations.
Presents will go under the real tree, but I'll have my pretty tree in our room

Love the smell of the real. Every year we get our from a local nursery or the fire dept.

Christmas Tree - Real or Fake?
Growing up always had real and I liked going to pick out a tree but as an adult I love my prelit. Dd loves it too so until she asks for a real one we are sticking with fake. Plus I read a traumatizing story a couple of years ago about a real Christmas tree so I'm a bit scarred.

Same fake pre-lit from when he and I dated. It has a history haha
I wanted a tree when I moved to NYC but didn’t have the space. I started dating my hubby and we got a small tree and we would go to the Palasades Mall for xmas. We would book a hotel in Nyack and drive up to the Mall and walk around for two days eating and goofing off. We’d set up our little 4ft tree and put up ornaments. Set up our presents for eachother under the tree. We’d move the sofa or chair they’d have aside. The hotel staff once set up the sofa so it looked like a real living room. Very sweet. It was our Christmas tradition. Every Year we’d celebrate ‘our christmas’ there. A weekend away just the two of us. We even knew the Chinese resturant so well they knew us when we walked in!
Well the tree made it our apt in Huntington, then to Texas apt and now our home as well. It sits on a train table for AJ to decorate. It’s not super large but it’s ours. It has history. We no longer have its box and we don’t even bother to take it apart anymore. I just pick the whole thing up and move it into the garage as is. I take off the ornaments but that’s it.
Not sure I can get rid of it. hahaha

Fake. I've never had a real tree growing up. The fake, 6 foot tree in our living room is still in great condition since my parents bought it in the mid 90s..
