Does anyone else think he's still trying to lose the Presidency?

Move after move, to me, it still seems like he's trying to somehow "lose" the Presidency. It seems like his plan is to either do whatever he wants so he and his rich cronies make as much money as possible, and/or trying to go to such extremes on everything that somehow he'll get kicked out. That way, he didn't "quit", but the "system" is out to get him....

He never wanted it in the first place. He was shocked as sh*t that he won. I don't think he is making a calculated attempt to "lose" the presidency. He is just doing what he does. Enrich himself at the cost of anyone who gets in his way. That won't change on Jan 20th.

My question is, who would be in charge of "charging" him with anything that would disqualify him from being inaugurated? Can they even do that? There seems to be enough evidence to at least investigate it. Or, do they have to wait until he is sworn in to charge him with anything? It's all such a sh*tshow already, between Ivanka sitting in on meetings with foreign leaders, his chat with the Pres. of Argentina regarding Trump tower buenos aires, the fraud case he settled, his meeting to reprimand the media, his corrupt foundation...it just goes on and on.

How can this man be sworn in?

I hope so, but the scary part is how many people just LOVE him. He can say or do anything and they are in awe. That's what's even more scary.

Yes. That is the real problem, not that Don exists but that people support him no matter what. It's authoritarianism at its finest. This reminds me the most of Nazi germany. It's one of the scariest sides of human nature.

Yes. I don't think he really wanted it in the first place, and I feel as though he's acting out in hopes that it gets taken away from him.

People will flip the shit if that happens. And he'll go nuts about "the system" and whatnot.

It would truly be a yuuuuuge part of history to witness, should it happen.

Even if he stays all 4 years, that's my big concern, too. If he does absolutely nothing, all of his "greatest people" around him will do a LOT... Chat Icon

I never thought he really wanted it except in some abstract I want to be president way. I honestly think this Started as a big joke to him and then he just kept getting deeper into it. Why the RNC let this happen is beyond me, but then also the DNC should've given their nod to Bernie, so both partief F'd up royally. I see it as going one of a few ways...he does something to get himself "kicked out" before the inauguration, he himself turns around and says : hey I changed my mind" or he actually listens to the Republicans in power and decides to learn and listen and really lead this country and do a decent job.

The fantasy of the normalization of Donald Trump—the idea that a demagogic candidate would somehow be transformed into a statesman of poise and deliberation after his Election Day victory—should now be a distant memory, an illusion shattered.

First came the obsessive Twitter rants directed at “Hamilton” and “Saturday Night Live.” Then came Monday’s astonishing aria of invective and resentment aimed at the media, delivered in a conference room on the twenty-fifth floor of Trump Tower. In the presence of television executives and anchors, Trump whined about everything from NBC News reporter Katy Tur’s coverage of him to a photograph the news network has used that shows him with a double chin. Why didn’t they use “nicer” pictures?

For more than twenty minutes, Trump railed about “outrageous” and “dishonest” coverage. When he was asked about the sort of “fake news” that now clogs social media, Trump replied that it was the networks that were guilty of spreading fake news. The “worst,” he said, were CNN (“liars!”) and NBC.

This is where we are. The President-elect does not care who knows how unforgiving or vain or distracted he is. This is who he is, and this is who will be running the executive branch of the United States government for four years.

The over-all impression of the meeting from the attendees I spoke with was that Trump showed no signs of having been sobered or changed by his elevation to the country’s highest office. Rather, said one, “He is the same kind of blustering, bluffing blowhard as he was during the campaign.”

Re: Does anyone else think he's still trying to lose the Presidency?

I don't think he ever wanted the job to begin with. But he has enjoyed the sound of his own name being cheered. He has been doing despicable thing after despicable thing in hopes this would all be taken from him and he can go back to swimming in his gold coin vault. Even he is surprised how low his supporters have gone to keep supporting him. He thought they would've surely given up on him after despicable thing # 47. But they keep coming for more. He didn't expect to win. He thought he'd be off the hook after the election because surely the sane America would prevail. He announced he lost the election because the system is rigged how long before the actual election? Lol ... living in the white house is beneath him. He's skeeved by the thought.

Obviously you are free to believe what you want, and even to vote for a guy you didn't think wanted to be president in the first place. Nobody is taking that choice or that trophy away from you. People need to pull their big girl pantaloons on and stop being so thinskinned. We went from "too much political correctness" to the thinnest of skins since this election. So maybe you should put on your big girl panties. I'm not the one trying to contest an election. Re: Does anyone else think he's still trying to lose the Presidency?

i kept on saying that Pence is so much more dangerous, but now, after how he handled the Hamilton fiasco, maybe he would be better?

It's a scary wordl we live in when i hope the president elect gets impeached before the inauguration and a homophobic, misogynist gets sworn in in his place.

He doesn't want it, and he didn't think he would win. Now he won, and him and his family don't want to downgrade from their gold plated NY residence to the White House. At this point, we are in trouble. He is a disaster, and Pence is truly horrifying.

Is it not your right either way? It doesn't matter who you voted for. And those who are contesting the election have good reason to. Their civil RIGHTS are quite possibly severly jeopardized with this man or his choice of VP in office.

I guess threads that say "no debate" regarding having nothing nice or hopeful to say about Trump are the only ones to be respected. But if you post that you are being hopeful, you will be jumped on. And yes, you are being jumped on. How dare you have hope or try to think rationally right now and not feed into the mass hysteria or the LIF hysteria.

And yes, you are being jumped on. How dare you have hope or try to think rationally right now and not feed into the mass hysteria or the LIF hysteria.

Really? You consider THAT an attack?? LoL I'm guessing you guys consider anything that isn't joining hands and singing kumbaya an attack. I'm starting to see why this guy has such thin skin that he takes to twitter so often.

or he actually listens to the Republicans in power and decides to learn and listen and really lead this country and do a decent job.

You're putting a lot of faith in this scumbag.

Not going to happen....
http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/donald-trump-personally-blasts-the-press

I choose to have hope Goldenrod. I know this board tries very hard, but you , not you Golden, collective you, can not tell me how to feel or believe. The OP asked for opinions, I gave mine, it's not an invitation for everyone to jump down my throat. Again, not you Golden. Happy Thanksgiving all.

Edited because I forgot a word.

Alright there settle down. I'm not telling you how to believe or feel. And I don't see where anyone jumped down your throat. Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

First off I said it was not an invitation to jump down my throat , I didn't say you or anybody else did, I was trying to stop it before it started, because of posters like you. So maybe you should put on your big girl panties. I'm not the one trying to contest an election. Furthermore, I have NEVER said I voted for Trump, I am conservative as a search of my posts can tell, but that does not mean I voted for the man. Stop making assumptions.
