If youve had a baby with an ear infection....
I can't decide if I need to bring 7 month old ds to the Dr. He's had a cold the past few days, so he's up like every hour or more thru out the night. Sometimes when he wakes up crying he also grabs at his ear. Last night he was up so many times doing this that I was positive I would bring him to the Dr first thing this morning. But now he seems completely fine and is playing and smiling. I don't want to drag him to the Dr and expose him to more germs for nothing, but is it possible that with an ear infection a baby could seem fine during the day and be miserable at night?

I would bring him. I always err on the side of caution and bring them to the doctor if I think it's something more serious than the run of the mill cold.

Re: If youve had a baby with an ear infection....
DD has a double ear infection right now. That's how it started, but by the next day she was miserable around the clock. If she wasn't screaming, she was sleeping. Though it was always worse at night. It could be teething, but seeing how much pain DD is in, I'd take your LO in to the doctor before it gets worse.'
ETA: DD is also about 7 months. We actually took her into urgent care because it was so bad and our regular doctor was closed.

My children always run fevers with their ear infections. DD also doesn't like to lie down because that presumably makes her dizzy.

Try a chiropractor. And FYI they don't ever "crack" the baby's back. It's more of a gentle massage, bones are not manipulated.

Yes. DS is an ear infection kid. ALWAYS worse at night because lying down causes the pressure to build up.

Re: If youve had a baby with an ear infection....
I take my DD to my chiropractor. She saw me throughout my pregnancy and she specializes in that and pediatrics so I know my DD is in good hands. The treatment is gentle. She also gives me good natural tips so I don't always have to resort to giving my DD medicine unless its really necessary.

It may have just went away on its own, but I would bring LO in just to be safe.
