What could Trump have done/do to get you on board?

I was thinking about this.

For me, I'd have felt a bit more hopeful if he said goodbye to those campaign team losers and sent them on their way and then picked up the phone and called Bernie to help shape a diverse team.

He also should have denounced the KKK and other various hate groups publicly. And the same with the harassment and attacks people are receiving (besides saying "stop it!" - after saying how he didn't really believe it was happening that much)


For starters, at least.

- Gotten a filter and actually thought before he spoke.
- Not coming up with ideas that are so far-fetched they bordered on the absurd.
- Come up with some concrete plans, instead of a vague "make America Great Again".
- Answer the how, the where, the why and the how much is it going to cost the real taxpayers.

At this point he needs to denounce the KKK, speak out against racism and anti-semitism in a much more powerful way. And he needs to speak directly to the LGBT community to tell them he does not plan to do anything to repeal marriage equality.

For starters, I was hoping that he would AT LEAST surround himself with a good team of people. Since we all know the president isn't all powerful, it would be comforting to know that the people who have his ear and help to guide him have everyone's best interest in mind and would steer him in the right direction. Sadly, I don't think that is going to happen.

Secondly, I would like to see him "reign it in". The Twitter rants, the conspiracy theories, the blaming of everyone for everything. It's all very childish. I want to see someone who is dignified, polished, and who carries himself like the leader of a great nation. Not like an angry, hot headed toddler with a bone to pick.

Lastly, I would like to see change for the better. I think some of his ideas are ridiculous but if I start to see things with the economy improving, or the country coming together more, or foreign relations improving I would start to come around myself. Right now there is so much uncertainty with him and I don't feel like I can get on board however, if he becomes the change that he says he is then who knows, I might just be a fan!! All of that remains to be seen. But as of right now, I have little hope. Time will tell.

I'm hoping he'll start to pick a stance, and stick to it. He changes his stances on things sometimes in mid-sentence. His contradictory comments from one interview to the next, or even one paragraph to the next make it very difficult to figure out what he may do. Not knowing what he's going to try to do (I understand the no president can do everything they want to do, but at least up until know, we knew what they *wanted* to do), makes people very nervous.

I think this is one of the leading causes of the divisiveness in the country right now. One person hears and interprets one statement, and hears one thing, and another person hears a different statement and/or interprets it differently, and has a different idea of what he's saying.

A president cannot speak so indecisively and convoluted that billions of people around the world aren't clear on what he's saying, and what he plans on doing.

What could Trump have done/do to get you on board?

Maybe started by getting to a public office at the local level so he could learn how the government works.

Be less antagonistic and chauvinistic.

Not throw tantrums on social media.

Read and understand the Constitution- and then realize that it applies to him, as well as everybody else
