gift for my aunt for making christening gown
My Dh's aunt made a custom christening gown for my DD's christening with my mom's wedding dress. It is so beautiful, and we want to do something nice to say thank you. Any ideas?
Only thing I could think of is flowers

Flowers and a Heartfelt thank you is enough. She was probably honored to do this for you.
If you feel like you need to do more, maybe a GC along with the flowers for a local restaurant or her beauty place she goes to or for any hobbies she may have.
If you are close to her, maybe take her out for a nice lunch and give her the flowers in person and thank her again.
It's more the gesture then the gift itself

Re: gift for my aunt for making christening gown
as someone who loves to do stuff like this... i will tell you what makes my heart jump out of my chest.
an honest, heart-felt thank you. really, that's all people like your aunt want.
the idea of a framed picture of the baby in the gown or of your aunt holding the baby in the gown would be amazing. flowers and a nice mean are fun too.
at the end of the day, a sincere thank you will make her heart melt.
i would love to see pictures if you wouldn't mind sharing with the group.
ps. my step grandmother made my baptism gown and i still have it. makes me smile every time i see it.

my mother knits blankets for everyone who is having a baby, some of her friends kids on their 3 baby request a blanket from my mom because their first two kids love and still use the ones given. My mom love making them and only TY she has ever gotten is a card with a hand written thank you, thats all she needs. I agree with marathonkintter

here's the gown. The slip is on the left and has my daughter's name on it, the dress is in the middle, and my aunt made a coat, which is on the right. She took the lace from my mom's wedding gown
ETA: I decided to get a gift card to opentable.com, and I will send a heartfelt thank you with a picture of the two of them Image Attachment(s):
