Walls...
Are there any actual walls that are country borders? Do any countries actually HAVE walls preventing others from entering?

Walls...
Many counties block people from crossing their boarders, especially when a war going on. They dont want people flooding thier country or people looking for asylum
adding: you can move to Germany but never become a citizen they wont allow it.
I believe Australia does not let people just move to their country, they dont allow citizenship either, they dont want their country flooded with immigrants or illegals ( going by memory)

One of the purposes of the Great Wall of China was for protection.
I couldn't find any specifics on walls in the quick search that I did, but this article discusses 65 countries with really big fences. Border Barriers

Germany has a right of return, so if I wanted, I could apply for citizenship. I am not sure where you got your info about moving to Germany from, but if your parent or Grandparent was born in Germany and had to leave forcibly, then you could apply for citizenship. If you have no prior familial relationship, then that would be different.

There are walls and boarder checkpoints in many countries. North and South Korea, India and Pakistan, Israel and the West Bank, and Palestine. Egypt and the West Bank. Most of Western Europe has border walls.
In fact, we also have a partial existing border fence with Mexico already. We also have border crossing locations with Canada where you meet a guard, but no contiguous wall.

I really should start a new thread but does anyone really think we should be build a 3,000 mile wall? Like an actual physical wall that stretches 3,000 miles. I just can't understand this but people go crazy at his rallies over this.

Historically yes many countries have built walls for protection mainly due to war and conflict.
In modern times no. I think building a wall is a huge step backwards and shows you're regressing out of fear and ignorance as opposed to true safety and self preservation.

Forgot to add, Australia does let people move to the country. It's usually on a working visa (I mean no country isn't going to just let you in without proof that you can support yourself or someone can support you) and they have just released a list of skilled workers that they need. They also allow refugees, but that's been in the news the last few years. I went there on a spouse visa and I was one year away from citizenship. I could have held dual citizenship there, but I cannot do that in Germany.
