This is why I voted for trump
Since it got lost in another thread I'll post it here. unlike some of you think, trump supporters for the most part don't think we should be knocking on doors deporting people here illegally. But if you commit a crime in our country, one where you kill an American citizen. You should at least be punished appropriately.
Look up the Newsday story "man admits to leaving scene of fatal crash". The judge flat out gave him a lesser sentence to avoid deportation. Why are we protecting him??? You break a law you are punished with the punishment that fits the crime, not one to protect you. He killed someone and left them there to die. What if this was your family member???
This deserves a protest and for people demanding this judge be fired!! This is the crap Donad trump supporters are sick of.

Guess what HRC supproters and democrats want the same things. You commit murder goodbye ship them back. That is no reason to elect a bigot to the white hoise.
ETA: american citzens commit these same type of crimes everyday. Wish we could ship them somewhere too.

But you have no issue with Americans who commit crimes and get lesser sentences, just illegal immigrants?

I never said that so stop there. I have issues with the whole legal system. You think this is ok and are defending it??
But this particular article just points out a major flaw with America. Imagine we committed this crime in another country while we were there illegally?
Why is he driving? Why is he being protected? Americans are fed up with the treatment ILLEGAL immigrants get here. There are good ones and bad ones.
I strongly feel like if you are here illegally and you break a law....goodbye.

You are correct OP there are many many examples of flaws with our justice system and I don't think anyone could argue that point.

Judicial reform is a valid issue.
Xenophobia and bigotry towards others veiled as judicial reform is not.

Re: This is why I voted for trump
One of the analysts compared a vote for Trump to taking chemo, where the disease is so bad that you're willing to nearly kill yourself by injecting something toxic in order to kill the disease. You know full well it's toxic; you know the consequences, but it's worth it.
Except what you've outlined here is what we call one-issue voting, and it's not cancer; it's the flu, but you injected us all with chemo anyway. My guess is that you're probably a New Yorker, and that you don't bear responsibility for this since your vote is as worthless as mine (which is why thousands of kids in liberal strongholds are rioting in the streets) but the analogy works for swing voters.
What I really want to know is how Trump will keep his promises to his anti-immigration constituency (the most cost-prohibitive crack-down I have ever seen proposed) while he slashes taxes to levels that dwarf those of Reagan and Bush and adds trillions to the deficit.
Part of me wants to while he welches on campaign promises and I donate money to the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.

Do you purposely make inferences that make no sense for shock value? What in her original post would make you think that she thinks that AT ALL?
You do this constantly though. Someone says "That purple flower is beautiful" and your response is "So that means that red flowers aren't beautiful?" I'm just curious as to why that is the way you debate something. It doesn't make sense to me and in invalidates all of the good things that you have to say.

This and so many other reasons are why I voted for Trump. Despite his flaws (since they both had major flaws, different but both major), more of what he supports fits my biggest concerns greater than Hillary did. Mike Rowe had a great post on Facebook about all of this, that totally hit the nail on the head for me. If you have a chance, take a look at his thoughts on it.

Because her initial post refers specifically to immigrants? She has issue with illegal immigrants committing crimes but not Americans? Because she makes no reference to saying that judicial reform is needed across the board. And if that's her only reason to vote for Trump, while that's her right to do so, I think it's a vote very thinly veiled in racism and xenophobia and that's my opinion that you are invited to disagree with.

Exactly. Her post was talking about illegal immigrants. She doesn't need to talk about judicial reform for regular Americans citizens. You are failing to see what I am pointing out. I can say I hate purple flowers without having to talk about why I hate all flowers. She can talk about one issue without talking about the judicial system as a whole. You can't draw any conclusions about how she feels about the system as a whole when you only have one part of it. But you automatically assume because she wants to see reform in this one area that that means she DOESN'T want to see reform in others. It's the equivalent of me saying that because you believe in a fair wage for African American workers means you don't believe in a fair wage for all workers. Do you see how your logic is messed up? You draw inferences about things when you don't have enough information to come to that conclusion.
She also doesn't say that this is the ONLY reason she voted for Trump although I can see how you could draw that conclusion because she didn't say this is one of the reasons she voted for him.

Re: This is why I voted for trump
Donald supporters aren't the only ones who are sickened by this.
According to governmental data, the Obama administration has deported more people than any other president's administration in history. President Obama directed ICE to focus on criminals, not families, during his November 2014 executive action on immigration. In fiscal year 2015, 91 percent of people removed from inside the U.S. were previously convicted of a crime.
[L=http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/obamas-deportation-policy-numbers/story?id=41715661]
IMO, Donald won the votes of his supporters with certain promises including a wall between us and Mexico that would be paid for by Mexico and a ban on Muslims entering the US. He has already softened on his wall stances and Gingrich has called it a "great campaign device."

I personally think his supporters will soon realize they were sold by a very experienced businessman who is doing a little "bait and switch." But only time will tell...

Thank you for sharing this. I recalled hearing that Obama had deported more people than Bush. Personally I am all for criminals being deported and that judge should resign. I was and still am troubled by Trump's plan during his campaign (which may be among the many things he's backpedaling on already) to make productive citizens leave and apply to come back. If someone's only offense is coming here illegally, and then trying to be a good citizen, I don't think that's fair.

I agree with this- I think rather than facing deportation, those here illegally and are trying to be good citizens should have access to some form of assistance and expedition of citizenship. I would have an issue if this option was offered and people still declined... then I would begin to question intentions of being here and would say ok we offered you help to become a citizen, you don't want to... it's time to go... but if you want to stay, let's help those that want to stay and expedite citizenship for them and help them navigate the process.

No reason to hide behind a fake name. As you can tell from my posts, I am no Hillary fan, but to create a fake name to post your dislike of her just makes a mockery of what we are talking about. Use your real name or don't post.
Thanks.

Yeah, just use your real name. Andplusalso, how is this post replying to the OP?
Just use your real name. I had the same thing a few days ago, and I have it down to about 3 people who did that to me. It can kind of be obvious based on writing style. I deal with writing style in my work, so go on and try me. I'm pretty good at finding people out!

You are still clinging to this idea? Hope it's not the not the only reason you voted for him; seems like he is already backpedaling on sending her to prison. Ironic given that he may be facing racketeering charges.

I feel like most rational people would want this guy to be appropriately punished for his crimes. If he's here illegally, his a$$ needs to be shipped out. If I were a member of the victim's family, I'd go after the judge's job, too. Committ a crime, do the time...
