First Birthday Party
My son's first birthday party is next week. I have been crazy with planning and my mom said I need to give favors. There will only be 3 children there (my son, niece -7 months and cousin's son - 2 years old) there's 2 boys in high school coming and the rest adults. Do I have to give favors to everyone ? It completely slipped my mind! TIA ??

Re: First Birthday Party
I don't think you HAVE to, but it's a nice thing to do. Even just a few Hershey's kisses in a little favor box or bag goes a long way in saying thanks and showing your appreciation for people spending their time and giving gifts for your dc.

First Birthday Party
I did not give favors to adults for my twins first birthday and have never received one and I have been to many. Some home parties, some at a hall or restaurant. I made goodie bags for the kids.

I never do favors because honestly I think they're a complete waste of money...none of my family and friends ever seem to care.

I think favors are only for kids at a kid birthday party. However, my mom is totally old school and hosted my first done first birthday- she gave out chocolate bars as favors for everyone.

I totally agree. Everyone in our family eventually stopped too. Once in a while we get a kid ask & I simply say we don't do favors. We do spend the $ on other things (upgraded food, entertainment, etc).

I gave out cake pops that were shaped as farm animals as her 1st birthday theme was a farm theme.

I honestly don't think I did favors for DS's first birthday. I can't even remember TBH.

With my first I made caramel and chocolate covered pretzel rods and gave the few one year olds a color wonder set. My second we did a smaller party and I don't think I did favors. I think with mostly adults you can either do something edible and not anything special for the kids or do something for just the kids and not worry about the adults. Books are always nice favors for little ones. Inexpensive board books or little golden books that match your theme.

That's fun and different! How did you do that?
To the OP, I always just gave favors to the kids for both of my kids' 1st bday parties. I really don't think it's necessary though. Don't stress.

Re: First Birthday Party
You don't have to do anything. I would probably give a little activity to each child to keep them entertained during the party (coloring book, crayons, stickers, etc). For DD's bday we also gave chocolate lollipops to everyone. I don't recall doing a favor for DS's 1st bday.
