Nassau County Civil Service Exam Process?
I'm a little unclear as to how the civil service exam process works exactly as I've only recently started looking into it. Are the exams offered when a position becomes available? Do I need to put my name on any sort of list?

Nassau County Civil Service Exam Process?
You will not be offered a position until you have applied, taken the exam and receive a score depending on the job title. Once this is completed you will be sent canvas letters as positions open up. FM is you have more ? look at the career posts

You need to take the test when it's offered. It takes six months to get the results. They make the list based on the scores. The people at the top of the list get letters when a position becomes available.

If you see a test you're interested in take it. It might not be given again for a few years.

Usually every three yrs for most. Once its offered not usually offered again for 3 yrs
which is why if you see something take it, Hundreds of people will be taking the same test.
Call the State tomorrow and ask for the dept in the area you want
