Disney cruise - passports

We would need passports for a cruise that stops in Nassau and Castaway Cay right? I haven't cruised in years but I remember my passport not even being stamped the last time we went. Mine is expired and I would need to get my DD one.

No you don't. I always use my BC and Driver's License, as I don't have a passport, nor does my DD. My son only has one because he is 17, and Disney requires gov't issued picture ID starting at age 16.

...and people will tell you to get one, you won't get home without one god forbid there is an issue, etc. etc. But yes, you CAN travel without one on a closed loop cruise...meaning that it begins and ends in the US

Yes. But I would never leave the US without my passport. I got passports for my 4 yo boys and 6 yo girl for our Disney cruise this past May.

This. We went on a Disney cruise this past summer. DS1's passport had expired and DS2 had never had one. We got both of them passports (DH and I already had valid ones). I wouldn't leave US without them either. Disney encourages it more than other cruise lines.

I agree. I'm getting them for my girls for our summer sailing.
