Coat spinoff (sort of)
What do you put on your LO when going from the car to home, daycare, store, whatever in the winter? I've been putting a blanket over her in the seat and then just rushing in. I rarely carry the seat itself anywhere and she'll be in a convertible soon anyway.
Do you put the coat on when you take them out of the seat? DD is a lunatic and will fight me to the death to avoid any extra clothing so heavens help me if that's my only option!

thats why i like the 3-in-1 coats, like from Children's place. he's 6 now... but I would use the fleece layer on him in the car seat... and then i could throw the outer layer on him really easy when we got out of the car if it was super cold.

I put him in a cardigan/light weight jacket when he's in his car seat. When we go into daycare/store, we just rush in. I grab his jacket, but usually don't bother putting it on him.

I like the carter's sherpa jacket and the children's place favorite jacket. Both are warm but thin enough for the car seat.

A light coat with a blanket in the car. I carry a heavy coat in the winter, too.

I put mine in the lands end squall from age 2 on - it's thin enough to wear in the car seat.
before that, it was a fleece sweatshirt or jacket - You're holding them close to you anyway running to wherever, so they are warm

Re: Coat spinoff (sort of)
I just posted about this on facebook yesterday. I don't put any coats on my girls when going into the carseat. Right now I throw a blanket on them. I found on Amazon a fleece poncho that has snaps in the back. You leave it unsnapped so when they go in the seat, you can strap the harness against their body and not over a bulky coat or sweater!

Thanks. This looks perfect but doesn't come in her size- she's only 10 months (a BIG 10 months), but not big enough for a 2T!

DS uses this coat as his winter jacket. Last year he was 18-24 months and wore the 2T size and it was big on him. The winter before I just had him in a fleece. I honestly don't think we had a winter jacket for him when he was an infant. I usually just stuck a bunch of blankets on him PLUS he was in the infant carrier.
I personally would not use the Lands End Squall jacket in the car seat. I think it is too bulky.

Re: Coat spinoff (sort of)
For DS its either a fleece jacket or a patagonia one. both are thin but warm. I lucked out at end of season clearance last year on the patagonia.
Same thing for DD. Light, warm and not bulky.
