Anniversary ideas
We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary next month. Typically we don't do anything past cards, but I think this one we should make a bit more effort to do something.
Not looking to break the bank - open to any ideas for a 1-2 night get away.
Has anyone done Foxwoods for a short getaway? I'm not much of a gambler, but the spa looks nice

Re: Anniversary ideas
I did both, and Mohegan Sun is better IMO for non gamblers. They have a ton of nice shops, the spa is great, indoor pool, and the restaurant choices are awesome and top notch food . Also nice bars and lounges- there is one where you are on top of a man made rock formation and the ceiling is a planetarium.
It's a very relaxing, quick getaway.
If you go mid week they have specials on their website that include dining credits too
I love it there. And we don't gamble- not even a slot machine.
They also are about to open their new hotel tower pretty soon- maybe next month.

What she said! Except we gamble like degenerates lol
Mohegan is far nicer imo, great restaurants, and foxwoods is close enough if you want to go out there to shop or eat or just to see what it's about. It's also not far from Mystic.

Great!!! Thanks for the info. I just reserved a room in the Earth Tower for a decent rate. We have up until 2 days to cancel if we decide to do something else.
Still open to other ideas

Awesome! Have fun and congrats! If you want to go the opposite direction there's Borgata which we like as well. Truthfully, I like Mohegan better though. Also, tell them it's your anniversary, they may upgrade you.

Thanks again. I'm not a big AC fan and the Borgata is just to 'clubish' for my taste.

Anniversary ideas
our anniversary is next month as well. our first anniversary we went to Newport, RI for a long weekend. we toured the mansions, did the cliff walk, did some shopping, ate good food. i believe there's a very nice spa there as well. we stayed at one of the B&Bs.

Do Mohegan, we've been to both and I think Mohegan is SO much nicer, cleaner, and more modern. There is nice shopping and a bunch of really great places to eat!! They also have a spa and indoor pool which is very nice.
Keep an eye out on Groupon and Living Social, you can get some good deals on Mohegan. Also, see what shows they have while you'll be there. They have a GREAT arena, we did a concert one time we stayed there.

In June dh and I stayed in between Mohegan and Foxwoods at another hotel and then we did both. Then went to Newport one day and then mystic on another day. We are not big gamblers so we only ended up at Mohegan and Foxwoods for dinner.

Re: Anniversary ideas
We went to the grand cascades resort for our 10 year and had a couples massage and a five course dinner with wine pairings. It was amazing.
