Workout question

I worked out on Saturday morning (took a crossfit type class ). I am still sooooo sore. Like small movements hurt lol. I workout a lot but this class kicked my butt. Anyway I'm supposed to go at 10:00 again. Not sure if it will help the soreness or make it worse. I can't go again until Friday bc of work so I really wanted to go today. Any opinions ?

Workout question

I'd stretch and go.

My calves are still sore from a race I had on Saturday and I went to the gym yesterday and plan on going again today.

Re: Workout question

The right answer is proabably to go, however, you may find that if you are still THAT sore, you won't be able to do the moves in the class the right way.

Re: Workout question

I wouldn't go.
If you are still THAT sore, you still need some rest. Drink some protein and stretch. A little store, yes. But very sore? No.

When I first started lifting heavy and working out a lot, I used to be so sore I couldn't get up and down the stairs after leg day! And sometimes a couple days after legs day. Give your body what it's asking. Do something else , maybe some cardio or yoga to help stretch

I pushed my body way over the limit and wound up with a stress fracture in my femur. Really... listen to your body and don't over do anything !

Workout question

I would not go. I was always one to push myself but after training for my half I have learned to really listen to my body. If I'm slightly sore yeah I push through it but if it is really bothering me then I take the time to recoup.

Drink tons of water. You need to flush the acids out.

I also take it easy after my sister got rhabdomyolysis from taking a spin class.

Re: Workout question

I probably wouldn't go. From experience, if I'm that sore and go, I end up getting worse and then having to take a longer break from working out (a week as opposed to just resting for 2 days). Also, try adding bcaa into your shakes, it helps with soreness.

If you're that sore, I would probably skip it, and if you feel much better before Friday just practice some of what you learned last time at home or do another type of exercise.

Sometimes it's good to work though soreness because it helps break up the lactic acid. Even going for a walk helps.

agree, and drink fluids. The soreness is from the build of lactic acide

Re: Workout question

I think it really depends on the intensity of the soreness and what muscle group you will be working out. If your legs are really sore, I would skip any leg workout. You need to let those muscles repair. If you overdo it you can easily get injured. In this case I would concentrate on stretching and massage the soreness area with a foam roller.
