Co worker death of parent
Would you send a coworker something for the death of their parent? A few of us work closely with this person daily. Not sure what proper protocol is for this. I was thinking maybe a fruit basket?

its always nice, esp if the team is close, not expected bc she didn't lose a spouse or child. I do think those situations are a little when its the loss of a parent.
At the very least a card.

Card and edible arrangement or food from the loan grocery store delivered to their home is appropriate.

Ok so we just found out that they requested donations to be made to St judes instead of flowers. I'm thinking we will all chip in to make one larger donation?

I think a donation to the charity they have chosen and a card is very appropriate and a very nice gesture.

Yes. I'd be really upset if the people I worked with did not acknowledge the death of my parent in some way.

Same. We have all lost a parent on my team and we always send something.
FWIW, the edible arrangements when my mom died all went to waste (a lot of people tend to send those). A donation is a better use of money.

ITA, Definitely would. Edible arrangements is a good idea, or a plant that they can take home after wake or cookies form a place like Cheryl & Co.
