magnum opus... what's yours?

as we all very well know, i'm the crafty type.

there are a couple of things in each craft that i enjoy that would be the creme de la creme for me to make.

it's a VERY slow day in the office and i was day dreaming of a couple of these items. i thought i'd ask yours...

what has been rattling in the back of your mind or what are you slowly putting together that once you accomplish it, it will be your magnum opus?

in my crafty life, mine are:
* knit... to knit myself a peacoat AND line it.
* quilt... to quilt a four sided seasonal quilt; like a duvet cover that can be turned inside out.

Re: magnum opus... what's yours?

I just started welding (with DS... a father-son "bonding" activity... pun intended... Chat Icon )

I don't have a particular project yet, but I eventually want to do some relatively large functional project. I'm still learning, so I'm just doing simple, small items.

With woodworking, I've already built an entertainment unit, a wall-to-wall/floor-to-ceiling bookcase system in my library, and several art projects, but I always want to do better and/or bigger. Again, I don't have a particular project in mind, but every time I think I have my magnum opus, I have something bigger in mind... Chat Icon Chat Icon

i'd love to write a book.
nothing special, just a chick lit story.

i keep on starting and have scenes i put down, but never a whole finished product.

i just don't have enough discipline to write it Chat Icon

"publish" a cookbook (at least just for my daughter really, but to compile it and make it look great and get a hardcover real book made. it is very costly and time consuming but I am hoping one day I can devote time to it)

I have others but that has been on my list for a really, really long time.

magnum opus... what's yours?

I would like to get photographs organized.
The ones my mom pulled out of our childhood albums put back in their proper place.
Try to identify the people in the very old photos that belonged to my mom's mom. Will be very hard to do because no one is left. I have to do it from memory.
Organize the photos from my life before DH, and from my life with DH.
We don't have children, so the old photos are something I hope to pass along to my niece and nephew, so that they have a bit of their family history.

i've toyed with this idea too.
family recipes so that we don't lose the history of our foods from our "native" countries.

would be awesome to give a copy to my future granddaughters (if i ever have any).

My bedroom. It's the most neglected room in the house. I need to basically empty it, gut it and fix it up the way I want it with new furniture and all. *sigh* But something else always comes up.

Just my kids lol

They are young 5 and 2 and my son just started Kindergarten, it feels so overwhelming to raise them to be good, kind, successful people sometimes and honestly if my husband and I can accomplish that, it will be our magnum opus for sure
