I've never been to Vermont and I want to plan a ski trip in January but have no idea where to start. Any recommendations on where to go with 4 kids ages 5-9 plus a 14 month old? It would also be 6 adults so I'm thinking airbnb is the way to go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've never been, but my brother and SIL love Smuggler's Notch. They go at least once a year.

I was going to suggest Smuggler's also, looks great there for kids.

Jackson Gore looks nice (doesn't look near as kid oriented as Smuggs though)

Smugglers Notch is a great family mountain but pretty far north so if you are goign longer than a long weekend its doable but you'd waste too much time in a car for just 3 days or so.

Southern VT - I am a fan of Mount Snow. Killington is huge so you can avoid the crowds on the different areas.

More Northern I would say Sugarbush.

My parents have a house at Okemo. I learned to ski there and now I go there with my kids. Very family friendly. Modern lifts and nice lodge.

Jackson Gore is the newer section. On the okemo side condos/houses are a little older but also less expensive.

I love Okemo and it's very family friendly. It's not far from Killington which a lot of people love, but I find it almost to be too big and overwhelming and I don't find it to be family friendly at all. Definitely not where I would bring younger kids to ski.

Ah this is good to know! I was about to book a place near Smugglers but would prefer to minimize the torture of extra time in the car with 3 kids Chat Icon
