Torn mouth frenulum
Anyone else's DC experience a torn mouth frenulum? Yesterday DD was trying to climb her toy car and fell and hit her mouth. She was bleeding a lot and her lip started to swell up alot. I took her to PM Pediatrics as a precaution, they said that she tore her frenulum and there is nothing they can do that it should heal on its own. If your DC has done this how long until it appeared to heal fully and did it affect anything?
TIA!

Re: Torn mouth frenulum
sorry, no experience with my children However, I ripped my frenulum when I was in my 20's and it healed very quickly (never reattached) but never caused a problem for myself.

Torn mouth frenulum
happened to my DS around 14 months and it was fine. It healed pretty quick and no effects.

Not me, but a colleague of mine (a doctor) told me the other day that her DD did this and she had never seen so much blood- which means a lot coming from her! I think she said it took a couple weeks to fully heal but didn't have any lasting effects at all.
