What is needed and not needed for baby

Can anyone give me an idea of things NEEDED and things that are "suggested" on those registries but not necessary. I'm having twins and really just want to keep things at a minimum with clutter and I want to be sure I pick up the necessities. I do have a registry with a ton of stuff on there but feel like maybe I need to remove some stuff.

Thanks!!

Blankets and clothes! I wouldn't add any bc you'll get tons no matter what.
Crib bedding sets are a waste, just need 2 or 3 sheets and a crib skirt.
Bouncer and jumper were not very useful for my girls. They preferred the swing, excersaucer, and rock and play. Play mat was used a ton too.
I didn't get much use out of the boppy and definitely didn't need all the extra covers.
I have leaned that if you don't think you'll use something, return it. There is so much stuff involved when you have a baby or young children that you shouldn't feel bad for exchanging things you don't need it like with things you will get more use out of.

3 kids and have never used a wipe warmer, diaper genie just tossed in reg garbage and taken out daily anyway, changing table put pad right on top of dresser

Big things we love swing, pack and play, play mat, exersaucer, a few sheets no big set, black out curtains and noise machine, bath tub,

If using dr brown bottles, the dishwasher baskets were a life saver. The last 2 kids I used drop ins and those are great

If I think of more I'll update

needed: swing, pack and play, humidifier, video monitor, side snap onesies, bath tub (Primo Eurobath especially- it is big though so space might be an issue)
not needed: wipe warmer, diager genie, bottle sterilizer

It's really all personal preference-we never used an infant tub, swing, monitor, or diaper warmer, and only had 1 sheet for the crib.

We did love:

Bouncy seat
Rock n play
Mamaroo
Diaper genie
The little liners that go on top of the changing pad covers
The giant sponge that fits in the sink for baths
Paci clip
Sleep dresses/zip up light weight sack things
Boppy with 2 covers

This! Plus a bouncer (it saved my life) and bottle warmer

Agree with all this! We never used a rock and play or a bouncer but you have two coming and they aren't very expensive so I'd say go for it. I also really liked the boppy newborn loungers- we used it constantly!

It's all so personal. What worked for my babies may not work for yours. But I will say since you are expecting twins you may want to get an Ergo or some sort of baby carrier or sling. That will be a lifesaver.
You also need some sort of swing/bouncer to put the babies in. Or a pack and play.

Re: What is needed and not needed for baby

i think it is really tough to decided what is needed or not...it does vary by child. Things that I needed for one child, i didnt for another.

having twins, i would def try to get a wrap or carrier to help you out. You of course need a car seat, stroller, cribs.

We got a lot of use from our play mat, and both of my kids preferred the jumperoo to the excersaucer (this this is not until around 6 months so you have time to get those). when they were newborns they both like the swing (we had a fisher price one that worked well...cheaper than the mammaroo)

My son LOVED the rock n play and since he had bad reflux it was the easiest way to keep him comfortable so for him it was a must...my daughter not so much.

i cant imagine not having a video monitor...but of course many people (including our parents) managed without one.

The halo swaddle sleep sacks are great. Clothing, bibs, blankets, etc you will get plenty of.

Bottle warmers, bottle sanitizers, and wipe warmers are not needed. but we still get use of the bottle and nipple brushes when washing cups.

I only every used a pack and play when we took the kids out for an overnight...never used them in my own house, and when they were little they would just nap in their car seat.

As everyone else said it's going to depend on you and your baby, but the items that we used the most were:
Baby Carrier-I used both the K'tan wrap and Beco Gemini and loved them both
Onesies-lots of them. DD was born in August and lived in onesies for a while
Fisher Price playmat-the jungle themed one
Boppy infant lounger-I loved that thing

We still use our diaper pail, the arm and hammer munchkin one, so that was a necessity, but we never used a bottle warmer or wipe warmer

As everyone said, it really depends.

Things we used often- diaper genie, boppy, rock n play, Aden and anais easy swaddle and muslin blankets, video monitor, tiny love playmat

Things I never used or needed- wipe warmer, bottle warmer, bottle maker, baby food processor

I wish I went with a more traditional swing instead of the mamaroo

ETA: I had a nosefrida because everyone raves about it. But I ended up losing a piece and got a graco battery powered nasal aspirator instead and it's sooo much better.

Bottles. Lots of them

2
Separate thermometers and snot suckers

Burp cloths. You will
Go through a lot

Same with diapers. Put some on and buy some Amazon gift cards so you can have them shipped quick

I wouldn't have survived with out my rock n plays

I would have a play mat, jumper and exasucer

Sound machines. Extra nipples.

Boppy's were a big help

Double snap n go.

Re: What is needed and not needed for baby

A sound machine. It took my DS a while to get used to his crib and the sound machine was the only thing that kept him calm.

Never used a diaper genie, bottle warmer or wipe warmer.

Depends on the baby.

Bottles
Rock n play
Swing
Gym
Play mat
Jumperoo
Pack n play
Footies for a winter baby, onesies for a summer baby
Burp cloths
Bibs
Blankets
Infant tub
Hooded towels
Monitor
Humidifier
Thermometer
Crib sheets (at LEAST 2)
Mattress pad
Changing pad
LOTS of covers- I hated those washable liners. If I have to wash the liner I can wash the whole damn cover. If you want a liner, get disposable.

We also used a the mamaroo but DD preferred the swing. She hated the newborn lounger and I never had a regular bop because I originally thought it was for bf-ing, which I didn't do. I like the bottle warmer and diaper pail, but you don't NEED them. Also, the sound machine saved my life.

3 kids - never needed
a wipes warmer,

a bottle warmer - we would run some hot water under tap then put the stainless steel baby bottle in.

Totally used :

a diaper pail... Not the genie, the one that takes 13 gallon kitchen garbage bags.

aiden and anais - blankets - thin but soft, great to layer or swaddle

carters or green spout bibs - the non waterproof bibs soaked so many clothes. totally worth the extra money.

Breathable baby - blanket and bumpers

Citi Mini Stroller- The one hand pull in the seat area is genius to actually close put in car with baby in other arm. Found a past season model online from store for less.

Crib sheets - at least 3
Pack and Play sheets - at least 3.
(you will have diaper accidents or sick spit up nights)

rock in play is an inclined sleeper- my younger 2 had it and slept so much better as newborns verses my 1st.
