I transitioned DD to a regular tub around 8ish months. I just got one of those stools and put it in the tub and sat on that so I could wash her.
Do you have a link or picture of the stool? I hate leaning over the tub, especially pregnant.
Stool
I think I got it at BBB or Home Depot. I just folded it up when I wasn't using it.

Outgrowing the infant tub...
Not sure if people said this already (I didn't have a chance to read earlier comments) but I highly recommend the Primo Eurobath. You can purchase it at Buy Buy Baby and use a 20% coupon. It's a fairly large plastic tub that I put in the bathtub. The only thing is that its a bit of pain to store due to size. DD was able to use that until around 1 year but she was a HUGE baby (still is as a toddler -- she's currently 17 months and wears a 2 or 3T in clothes and a size 7 diaper). I'm assuming most babies/kids would be able to use it for much longer.

Agree. My kids used it past 1 years old. We made good use of it.

Re: Outgrowing the infant tub...
I used an inflatable duck tub with DS1. With DS2, I used a laundry basket, which was perfect. It allowed me to bathe the kids together and keep DS2 contained and entertained.

Re: Outgrowing the infant tub...
Thanks for the responses! I'm surprised so many kids stay in the laundry basket. My infant tub is pretty much the shape and size of my laundry basket and I already place it in the big tub so I guess bath ring it is

Re: Outgrowing the infant tub...
I used the kitchen sink until she was over 2 but she has always been small...and my sink is big. I have a bad back so not having to bend over a bathtub was awesome.
