Disney World during Halloween
Has anyone gone to Disney during Halloween? We decided to do a last minute trip over there. Any tips? Are there any special shows to check out? Thanks!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!
I've been twice with DH and we're going again next month. It's a separate entrance ticket than regular admission and there's a cap on the amount of tix they sell. Basically, the park is less crowded and you get to trick or treat  . Some people go all out with costumes but it's not necessary to have a costume on. There are some special characters that do meet & greets (not what we go for but some folks do) - like the Seven Dwarves, the Queen of Hearts, Sally & Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas. I just like that the lines for rides are practically non-existent, there's a cool nighttime parade (and an appearance by the Headless Horseman) and special Hallowishes fireworks. It's a lot of fun

There is the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom which runs select nights from the beginning of September until just after Halloween. It is a separate ticketed event.
Most Disney resorts will have some Halloween themed fun going on as will Downtown Disney.
There used to be trick or treating at Fort Wilderness, but I believe that it is now limited only to guests staying at the campground itself. It is not an official Disney activity but something the campers did themselves.

We were that at Halloween time and actually ON Halloween, it's SO much fun. The decorations are awesome and the MNSSHP is great! They do a really cool parade and the fireworks are awesome!!

Halloween party at MK looks super fun.
We went 2 yrs ago in the fall but didn't buy tickets in fear of rain. We went during rainy season. Still had a great time. Halloween decorations were up and we saw the nighttime parades for the first time. Our kids would have loved to go trick or treating at Disney. Sounds so fun!

my fav time of year to go to Disney is Halloween!! Love the decorations, the parade, everything!

We loved the not so scary party! Did it two times. We buy tickets a few days before (and pick the night based on weather forecast). If it rains... It rains and it's pretty miserable (we did it once with rain ponchos but were wading in water in costumes).

I recommend this as well. We're going to be doing our second one this year and I'm waiting on buying the tickets after going in the pouring rain last time.
