Just FYI for you mamas and dadas...
Party City prices are at least $10 higher than target and TRU.
TRU is also having a sale 20% off costumes...
I went to party city and asked if they would price match, they said no.

I noticed that as well...Target had a nice selection of costumes this year.

Re: FYI: Halloween Costumes
I just bought DD's costume at Marshall's. They had such cute ones!
She's going to be a chocolate covered strawberry. I wish I could find a pic online! It's so cute. They had gorgeous princess dresses, too- nice quality fabrics with hoop skirts and accessories included. I was impressed.
ETA: It's the same as this costume, but chocolate dipped.

They are true to size... I got my dd a 4-6 and shes tall/thin... Shes 4 years old. It fits her, but has a little room in it and is a little long. Like I would have liked it maybe a little tighter and not as long so I may alter it to fit a little better... Like she could have fit into a 3-4 if the costume ran in that size which it doesn't. She typically wears size 4.

They all basically come from the same companies so the size isn't going to vary that much. I'd go by the chart.

Ugh. Gecko (from PJ Masks) is already sold out at TRU. Thanks for the head's up, I'll keep my eye out for places other than Party City!

This. We bought DS1's costume at the Disney store last year and it was great quality! Also $30 less than the one sold by Chasing Fireflies. Both DS1 and DS2's costumes will be from the Disney store this year also. With their current discount the price is comparable to other stores.

Thank for this! I was going to bring LO to Party City but I guess we'll try Disney first. He keeps changing his mind so I want him to see the costumes before ordering online.

Love the Disney store and wish my daughter wanted to be a princess but she wanted to be something else this year and Disney store doesn't have it.
Chasing Butterflies is ridiculously over priced.

I also saw a fb post that on Thursday target will have costumes 40% off on cartwheel. Don't know if it will be true but I remember they did it last year.

Oh man lol. I looked last time for Elena dress. Then she changed her mind. I haven't been back and don't know when I will. Oh well. Lol. I got it bigger so it will last.

I use google search engine & Amazon. Got DD a "pony" costume from the UK for around $20! DS fell in love with captain America from Costco. The baby will be a lamb from Amazon. All were around $20-25... Including shipping. Helps to buy in August before the price hikes.
I've had luck in the past with target. Also have ordered from Halloween express & Chasing fireflies (they have a sale section... Because no way would I spend that $ on a kid Halloween costume).
