I would've left more out of concern for the very real possibility of getting stuck if/when they shut down tunnels, bridges, and possibly subway lines. Let's face it, our area, built on a series of islands, was set up as a death trap. Why risk it? Oh the bride was highly disappointed?! Too effing bad! You have to worry about yourself and your family first. People and their selfishness are unreal. She should have been the first to suggest cutting the night short. I wouldn't risk my life for anyone's anything.
If I was the bride I would not want to bear the guilt or responsibility of anything happening to any of my guests if they felt they had to stay behind to celebrate with me.

We were in the city Saturday for our anniversary. We stayed. No wrong or right decision.

I put other - as I know myself would have stayed with the same point that I won't live in fear, even though I would have been fearful.
But I know DH would have insisted I leave - and if I didn't...would have come to get me.
