If you could go anywhere by yourself..
Where would you go and for how long? It's on my bucket list and want to book something for either this winter or after tax season (May/June). I like adventures but not sure how comfortable I'll feel adventuring by myself, although I also don't want fear to limit me. Help me plan.

I would pick someplace where I could sightsee and explore, but I'm not the type to just sit on a beach. I really loved Charleston.
ETA: i would probably go for 3 nights by myself.

Re: If you could go anywhere by yourself..
I did a summer bus tour of Europe by myself. It was good because it was the first time I'd been. I didn't have to stress about getting from point a to point b, or having my hotel reservation lost. It was also good because I did make some friends who I could walk around with, but if I wanted to take off on my own I didn't worry that I was offending anyone.
After I stayed on a few extra days in London by myself and it's a great city for solo travelers. There are great walking tours and bus tours and if you are familiar with the NYC subways you'll find it pretty easy to get around on the Tube.
ETA: My bus tour was 17 days and with the travel time and days added I was gone about three weeks, we visited 7 countries.

I went to Sanibel Island by myself - I think I went for 5 nights. I went there because I wanted someplace quiet and peaceful. I wasn't looking for nightlife or anything crazy to do. I was a great experience. I did a dolphin watching sail trip, took long bike rides through a sanctuary/nature preserve, walks on the beach, went for a massage. It was just what I needed at the time.
I've also done ski weekends by myself

probably a short cruise. i love how they clean your room twice a day, and you get great meals every night LOL i would just hang out by the pool, floating around in the middle of the ocean while they cleaned and cooked for me! HAHA I also have a dream of going to Disney solo, too! Or at least a girls weekend with some friends LOL DH and DS aren't quite as disney obsessed as I am-- so it would be fun to stay at the grand floridian with a few girlfriends, maybe do some time at the spa, and do the parks without dragging a 5 year old around

If I HAD to do a trip by myself, which I really have no interest in, I would likely take a cruise.

I would want to go somewhere where I am constantly active/sightseeing/on the go. I am also not one to sit on the beach all day long. I'd say possibly Europe. I know someone who went by herself on a tour of Australia and she loved it.

Re: If you could go anywhere by yourself..
I'm visiting a friend in Australia next June so that's out. I like to hang out and relax with a good book but I also don't want to get bored. A cruise sounds nice, I've been on a few and didn't even consider that!

Omg I've been looking into some sort of spa retreat but everything is , any recs? Everything I've googled has given me a $2-$3K price for 3 nights for one person.. no flight included.

Re: If you could go anywhere by yourself..
The specialty spa resorts like Miraval are $$$. There are many normal nice resorts with spas that are not too bad ($200-500).
We are Starwood people so we've stayed using points at Phoenician, W and Westin in Scottsdale. I stayed at JW Marriott with a friend last year and I think it was around $350 and they had a nice spa.
I got snowed in and stayed at the W in Downtown Scottsdale for 1 night. My friend was able to catch her flight but mine was cancelled. Bliss Spa is small there but I walked to this giant mall and was able to do my own thing with no car. It was a great time by myself.
