Christening- Church Donation?
So my DD's Christening is scheduled for the end of the month. We took a christening "class" at the church and they gave us an envelope for our donation, however they didn't give us a set amount. How much did you give and was this a required amount by the church? Some people are saying $100, some are saying $500 and I have no idea what to do.

Christening- Church Donation?
I gave $200. No requirement, the told us we didn't have to give anything. It was a beautiful private ceremony and I wish I had given more.

ETA it wasn't a required amount, you give what you are comfortable with

I think the recommended amount was $150 but we ended up giving $200 because we did a private ceremony in our church's chapel, rather than a group ceremony with other babies in the church.

Phew! Okay- that sounds better. I mean we gave $500 for our wedding! And this isn't even a private christening. Thanks everyone!

we were gonna give $50 but we forgot to give it the day of. im pretty sure we put it in the basket the next time we went... i think....

I had put $100 in the envelope and before we went DH took $50 out because he didn't have any cash on him and needed to pick something up

They gave us two separate envelopes when we Christened my twins but we just split $150 between the two envelopes

We gave $75 but it was a private ceremony with a priest who's a friend from a separate parish. So we really only used the chapel, not any other of their resources.
