similac alimentum question
we switched DD to alimentum on Thursday because of her gas and fussiness..similac sensitive didn't work and the dr recommended alimentum. Between 730 last night and 130 this afternoon, she has pooped FOUR times! She used to poop once every 1-2 days. She definitely is a happier baby, and I am so glad she is pooping more because she isn't as fussy. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this with alimentum, and if babies typically poop more frequently on it? Also, her poop is definitely more loose than before, but not diarrhea. Is this normal too?
Thanks!
PS- this formula smells terrible!!!

Yeah, DD pooped a bit more.
It stinks and wait till she spits some up. She'll smell like a rotten potato.

Re: similac alimentum question
Yes it smelled awful and I think there was more poop at first but dc were a lot better on it, each insurance varies on coverage, I'd call and ask. My cousins insurance covered hers and she had 5 cases delivered to her every month

My insurance coverd it once we met the $300 deductible (so basically we paid for it the first month and haven't since).

Yes, it def smells terrible! To be honest I don't remember if ds1 pooped more but I do remember having to wait around 2 weeks before seeing any differences (mucous and blood in poop), I'd say wait a bit more to see actual results.
At that time, we had Aetna and they covered it but through reimbursements. We then switched insurance and got GHI. They'd only covered but in powder form, we tried to give ds1 the powder one but he'd completely refuse to drink it so we had to suck it up and pay out of pocket for the RTF ones.

Re: similac alimentum question
I got it covered, but they fought me on it. I was told it was a law in NY that it had to be covered. I called my insurance 4 times and they kept giving me a run around. On the fourth call, I said I was told it was a law. They would not tell if it was or was not when I asked, but three days later 6 cases were on my doorstep.

Yes...more frequent poop and looser.
I had it fully covered by insurance. No deductible. No copay. 5 cases delivered to my house each month.
