Gymnastics
Any recommendations for GREAT gymnastics schools in Suffolk? My daughter has a lot of natural flexibility and strength, keeps up with the older kids in class, but I feel like she's not being challenged enough and not meeting her potential. One of the coaches mentioned to me that she has natural talent, which I always thought, but I'm her mom so my opinion is slightly biased, lol. I just don't want to keep going to this recreational class where she's still doing cartwheels and very basic skills. Thanks!

Re: Gymnastics
Where is she going now and how old is she?
The place DD goes to gets more serious as they get older/show talent- they do go to competitions and matches etc but right now it's more fun and games for her.
We went to a party at Gym Nest and it looked really nice and much bigger than our place. Not sure how they are in terms of what you need, but you might want to check them out

Where does she go now? Message me if you are more comfy. My dd is on team at our gym. . Does your gym have competition teams? Those gyms are more likely to move your child to a more advanced class than a gym that just does rec classes

Re: Gymnastics
Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to have to check out Gold Medal. The place she goes now does have a team for the older girls, but she's been going twice a week all summer and hasn't learned a single new skill. It's all cartwheels and rolls, and if they do introduce a skill, they don't really help them learn it. I don't think it's a bad place, just maybe not the right fit for my girl. She's also VERY high energy and talkative, and I feel like she's been written off my the head coach because of her personality - even though she's only 4!

My coworkers daughter and a few of my students go to Julie's Gym in Patchogue. They go to competitions all over.

Re: Gymnastics
My son did a pre-k summer camp at Gold Medal this summer (the Huntington location) - and loved it.
The place is hard core (in a good way) for kids who want to pursue gymnastics seriously. The things that the 8-10 year olds were doing with their bodies was amazing!
