How old was your LO when they got their first bike with training wheels?

I should have gotten one for her this summer (she's 3.5). She goes on one at pt. I definitely should have gone with a 2-wheeler w/training wheels over the tricycle. Hindsight is 20/20...

My dd was about 2.5 when she started riding one... Might have even been a little earlier... Skip the trike

We really used it rarely & he is now 6... Though we do live on hilly grounds.
Don't rush it!
DD is barely getting hang of a trike at 4!

My daughter is 3 and wants no part of her tricycle. Thinking of getting her a bike with training wheels when she turns 4 but I honestly don't even know if she'd like it.

I think it depends on the kid. My DD will be 3 next month and there is no way she is ready for a bike. She is on the shorter side and is just getting the hang of a trike. DH and I actually bought her a bike a few months back and it said for ages 3 and up so I'm sure some kids are ready at that point. At DD's rate, she be on a bike at 5

balance bike (no pedals) at age 2.
Riding a two wheeler at age 4. Like a pro from the start!
Highly recommend starting with a balance bike.
I wish I had known with my 2 older kids.

we were going to get my son one for his 3rd birthday - but when we brought him to the store and had him try one, he definitely wasn't ready. He is on the shorter side, but even the seat looked so narrow - he could barely sit on it.
We ended up getting him the radio flyer tricycle which he loves and rides great - I think we will try again for the bike at 4.
Cant hurt to take your DC to the store and see if they are ready. All kids are so different.
