Boys and gymnastics
One of my 4 yo boys has mild low muscle tone and gymnastics was suggested to us as a good activity to build muscle strength. I am all set to register him and his brother and I looked online and I got a little nervous because all the pictures in the gallery were of little girls - I know it's less popular among boys, I just don't want them to be the only boys. Actually I don't mind if they are. I just don't want the other moms looking at me like I have ten heads when I show up, or worse snickering. Please tell me I am being ridiculous. Tia!

Re: Boys and gymnastics
My daughter is 5 and has been going to gymnastics for the past 3 years, she has always had boys in her class. I know her gym actually has designated boys class once they are past the preschool level.
Gymnastics is so good for kids, for physical development and confidence.

I have friends sons in gymnastics. Some classes are coed. You could ask the place before you commit to register.
Dd actually had a little boy in her tap/ballet class. He was only in it for two weeks but he was really good and had fun.
And who cares what other moms think. Do what's best for your son and what he will enjoy, which I'm sure you will.

I agree - who cares what other moms think. I did see that a gymnastic place not far from me has a Ninja Academy. Similar to gymnastics but more or an inflatable obstacle course type thing that they run. Maybe that would be an option.

I wasn't sure about signing up ds1 in gymnastics either, I even posted a question about it here. I ended up signing him up on a place that a lif mom recommended and needless to say, he loves it!!!! He's always showing him all the tricks he's learned! Sign him up, u won't regret.

Not sure where you are located but Long Island Cheer in Ronkonkoma has a weekly Boys Only Tumble Class, it has male instructors too.

Re: Boys and gymnastics
DD takes gymnastics every Saturday and there are a few boys in her class. I don't think twice about it when I see them.
Nobody is going to snicker. And if they do, they are losers so who cares....

Re: Boys and gymnastics
My 5-year old DS takes gymnastics and absolutely loves it. There are certainly way more girls in his class than boys - but there are always a few other boys for him to pair up with.
