Spending One on One Time wih Kids

What do you do one on one with your kid? I'm not looking for anything extravagant or time consuming. I want to start spending some one on one time with 3 yo DD and even 1 yo DS. DD loves her little brother but is still super jealous almost a year later. I think it would be good for both of us and I'd like to maybe try and head off the same issue for #3 if she is feeling special and secure. Thanks.

That has always been very important to me and one of my biggest stresses and things that makes me feel guilty.

I'm a sahm so I'm always with dd2 one on one when dd1 is in camp or school. Dh doesn't get much one on one with dd2. He works and when he's home dd1 monopolizes his time. Recently he started taking dd2 to a kids gym class Saturday mornings so that's been nice for him.

I find it hard to have that one on one with dd1 bc dd2 is always around. On weekends I take her to birthday parties. Run errands with her. Get our nails done together. Take her for lunch, etc. anything works as long as I am one on one and don't have to also focus on dd2.

We usually do one on one time when other DS has a drop off play date or birthday party. Left out child gets to choose between a few options. We try to make it special one on one time so left out child doesn't feel bad for not going to the party.

I know my friends with girls may take DD to get a mani pedi. I may take kids to the zoo, nature center or to a local show or festival.

Each of my kids have a "late night" they get to stay up passed bed time and do something they want with DH and I, which is usually art project, painting nails with my girls and my DS likes to watch football or how it's made lol. We also do a "date" with them one on one, I've taken them to Barnes and noble, out for a quick dessert etc. its just little things so they feel special but we rather do bigger things as a family.
