I am in the process of researching new peds in the PJS/Setauket area and have heard a lot of great reviews on Dr Masakayan. I spoke with the office today and they were super friendly and answered a lot of my questions. The only thing I heard is that there is sometimes a long wait for visits. That is one of the reasons I am leaving my current ped....Anyone have any first hand experience? Thanks!!

I am due at the end of September and this was the doctor recommended to me by my cousin. My cousin told me she has had no issues with appointments or huge wait times for the past 3 years. However I would be curious to hear what others have to say.

My SIL has been using this practice for over 10 years! She has nothing but great things to say.

I switched from her. She was nice enough - nothing amazing - but really rubbed me the wrong way when she offered me Christian counseling brochures when I told her I was struggling with PPD and told me to have my husband help out more.

I forgot to add she tried diagnosing reflux on my DS over the phone and wanted to call in a RX - I wasn't comfortable with that because I knew he didn't have true reflux. He needed to be on organic formula and he was a new baby. We then switched to the Byrne sisters at Personal Pediatrics but the wait times were insane - typically up to 2 hours before being seen. We're now at Kids First in PJ and very happy.

My friend raves about her -- she moved over 30 mins away and still commutes to her

Same here. She's very thorough. The first time meeting her I was skeptical, but after 4 years and two kids I can't switch even though she moved further away. I've only waited a long time a handful of times and they were all always apologetic about it.
